Lemon/Lime Baby Blanket with Border

I found a pattern for lemon and lime slices which were simple to make although they generated massive amounts of ends to weave in. They could be pot holders or coasters as other tutorials suggest. Great tutorial for the pot holder and crochet part of the fruitslice can be found here.

Using a basic square I managed to put them together into a blanket!
It’s not very big but perfect for the pram and its also quite warm.

For a girl it would be cool to use a watermelon theme. Yellow/green being fairly neutral. The border is quite similar to one found on this great sitethat has over 1400 free crochet diagrams.

21 Hearts Blanket

Usually when I begin a project I have someone in mind to give it to. I don’t really sell anything except for a few requests here and there. For this project I found a nice red ball of yarn. Or the red ball of yarn found me. I had to use it for something. This little baby blanket is just going to have to wait for some random baby to be born, haha.

The larger middle heart has wings and is surrounded by twenty smaller red hearts in slightly varied shades of red. Red and grey go really well together, kind of makes me think of England 1920s, can’t say why. The big heart doesnt have a pattern but is loosely inspired by the small heart square to which there is a chart.

Blanket with flowers

Incorporated flowers directly into the blanket. Simple, yet effective  and I love the result.
