Any one for fried chicken (cupcakes)?

Alright, I admit it, I am slightly obsessed with desserts (and food) that look like other food, pretending to be something that it is not. Here is my version of the fried chicken leg cupcake. KFC cupcake, if you will. We don’t have KFC in Sweden, they tried it many years ago, but the Swedish population just wasn’t ready.

I made orange flavored cupcakes.

And I made some buttercreme:
I grated some fudge (I bought the fudge, not sure if that counts as cheating or not, but for this purpose I didnt think it mattered much):
And I made some “bones” out of marzipan:
Assembly: Cupcake + Buttercream + Grated Fudge + Bone

Will try them on my father soonish =)

Rusty Key Stool

Someone at work was ready to throw away a box of keys and metal badges. I managed to save them, but what to do? Most of them are padlock keys thus not the ‘fancy/rustic’ model. Would guess 80’s model maybe? I know little of keys.

Since baby girl likes to play with anything small and shiny i decided to decorate this old step stool.

Using modpodge in layers;

And velvet tape around:

I think the result is pretty original and cool 😉

Coming back for seconds

These have been really popular, had to make a second batch, lol!

Branch “Chandelier”

Finally this one has come along enough to be published.
Last winter me & the kids were out in the woods branch hunting. We settled for this one, which is pine. Finally ‘finished’ it is now hanging in the porch decorated with hearts and lanterns, which we’ve collected over the years.
Mrs M, you may recognize your former kitchen table.

White bread sandwich with egg cookies

Yeah, you read it correctly.
I swear I saw this somewhere, then I couldn’t find it again, but it’s so simple it’s committed to memory. It’s so simple I should’ve done it already!

For All the Lost Socks – Searching for a Sockmate

For all the lost socks out there, here’s one:

It’s a relatively cheap thing to have, the octopus clothes-pin device which I am not sure has a specific name, I dedicated this one to the socks returned from laundry without a mate, thus sorting them out from the pairs so you have a decent chance of maybe making a match come next laundry day.

For those to whom it is not already obvious – sockmate – it’s a play on words =)

Pigs in Mud Cake

Saw some pics online and figured this wouldn’t be too hard (didn’t actually read it cause I prefer to make my own “insides”, as American/English recipes often are terribly sweet).

The original can be found here (facebook link).

The Eastern Tree

Around Easter, in Sweden we usually bring in some birch branches in a vase and decorate with feathers. This is in turn a bother for people with pollen allergies. In our house it’s a problem when the cats want to flip over the vase spilling water on the floor seven times a day. Here is the solution;

The Easter Tree

Same thing almost 🙂
